Liverpool secured a 1-0 win over Everton in the Merseyside Derby, but the result sparked controversy due to a questionable offside decision. Diogo Jota scored the only goal in the 57th minute, assisted by Luis Díaz, who came from an offside position.

Arne Slot Criticizes Offside Rule
Liverpool manager Arne Slot admitted he dislikes the rule that allowed Jota’s goal to stand. He explained:
“Do I like the rule? No. It does not help attacking teams. But today, it worked in our favor.”
According to the official rulebook, Díaz was not offside because he did not interfere with an opponent while regaining possession.
Everton’s Reaction: “Clearly Offside”
Everton manager David Moyes strongly disagreed with the decision. He said:
“It is disappointing to lose to a goal that is clearly offside. It was an easy one to give.”
Moyes also admitted that his captain James Tarkowski was lucky to avoid a red card for a dangerous 11th-minute tackle on Alexis Mac Allister.
